Yes, 90-minute drop-off sessions. Children should be comfortable separating and working independently in a small group setting.

Children do not need to be fully potty trained to attend, however, as this a drop-off program, I am not able to change diapers or provide hands-on toileting assistance. Parents should ensure their child has use the restroom or has a clean diaper/pull-up prior to the start of each session. Children should be able to use the restroom independently or be comfortable managing pull-ups not their own. I am happy to support them as they continue building independence in this area.
-
No prior Montessori experience is needed. Children are guided through materials and routines at their own pace.

While I have worked with students who have gone on to successfully test into selective enrollment programs as a result of the strong foundations built together, Tutor Montessori is not designed as a traditional test prep program. The focus is on developing strong literacy and math skills through individualized hands-on learning, which supports long-term academic success, including focus, problem-solving, and confidence. For families specifically interested in test preparation, I do offer more targeted support on a limited basis.

Your child’s progress is carefully observed during each session, allowing lessons to be adjusted in real time based on their needs. I track the skills your child is developing and how their understanding is growing over time. Families enrolled in membership will receive monthly updates highlighting your child’s strengths, areas of focus, and next steps. For drop-in sessions, a brief written summary will be provided at the end of each session. If any important updates come up in between, I will reach out directly, ensuring you feel informed and confident in your child’s’ progress while allowing sessions to remain focused and uninterrupted.

Tutor Montessori follows the core principles of a traditional Montessori work cycle, including a calm, prepared environment with authentic Montessori materials, uninterrupted work time, and individualized learning based on each child’s level and interests. Children engage in purposeful, hands-on work and receive one-on-one guidance as needed.
The main differences are the length and focus of the session. A traditional Montessori work cycle typically lasts around two hours and includes a full range of materials, including practical life. Tutor Montessori sessions are 90 minutes and are intentionally designed to focus more deeply on literacy and numeracy, allowing children to build strong academic foundations within a shorter, small-group setting.
